Cambridge Lower Secondary – Checkpoint (Grades VI – VIII)

The lower secondary programme is the equivalent to middle school years. These are the years in which our students truly begin to develop their skills of independent and critical thought. At this stage we employ a meta-curricular approach to strengthen thinking skills, study methods and technology proficiency. The holistic teaching methods that we use serve to demonstrate the interconnectivity of the different subjects. By presenting these subjects grounded in real life situations we are providing our students with means to take the skills they learn in the classroom beyond the classroom.

At the end of the lower secondary stage, students will take the Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations. These tests are in place to firstly assess their academic progress and secondly to provide diagnostic information on their particular strengths and weaknesses. These weaknesses will be adressed before they progress towards the Cambridge Higher Secondary level where they will be further assed by IGCSE examinations.
